Farmers in the tri-county area are eligible for drought assistance after the USDA approves a disaster declaration. U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack approved Governor Jay Nixon’s request for drought assistance in 101 Missouri counties including Camden, Miller and Morgan. Losses have to have happened between July 1st to August 30th of this year. Eligible farmers in the tri-county area can apply for assistance from the USDA’s Farm Service Agency. Farmers could receive FSA emergency loans or assistance from the federal Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments Program.
