Earlier this week, the Camden County Commissioners heard presentations in relation to printing needs for the next year. Some sealed bids have been received, but will not be awarded until a recommendation form the Assessor’s Office. Camden County Commissioner Cliff Luber is concerned that some of the courthouse’s stationary and business needs are being done by a company, in Springfield, the Edward J. Rice Company. Luber stated he wants to see printing done by a local company. Lake Printing of Osage Beach, made a presentation on Tuesday (11). For the past several years, the Assessment lists needs have been awarded and printed by Rice, whose bid came in higher than Lake Printing. For 2014-2015, Rice’s bid was 54-thousand, 865-dollars, over four-thousand-dollars higher than Lake’s bid of 50-thousand, 468-dollars. On Thursday’s (13) Jeff Smith from Alpha Graphics, also located in Osage Beach, called in saying his company has had the general printing contract for the county for the last several years and is glad the county is supporting them…
The bid for the Assessments from Rice is higher that Lake Printing’s bid. Rice’s figures are over 33-thousand-dollars for the first tax assessment forms to be sent, and over 38-thousand-dollars for the second notice. County Clerk Becky Farris says the Lake Printing bids were over 27-thousand-dollars and 32-thousand-dollars respectively.
