Since news of the tornado in Joplin, many people have tried to think of ways to help the victims. A group of quilters went right to work, sewing blankets that will go to nursing home residents and day care centers. Joplin is just starting to accept items for donations. And, with temporary housing opening up, a homemade quilt might be just the right touch. 14 quilters have been working on the project and plan to bind and deliver ten quilts, lap quilts and pillowcases from Fabrics and Friends, this week.
