Offshore race teams from the Lake of the Ozarks faired quite well at the Superboat International World Championships in Key West last week. Of the six port-of-call teams that competed, five teams made it to the podium, including two World Championships.
Topping the awards, winning their second World title in the Superboat Unlimited class was the WAKE EFFECTS team. They also claimed the Florida and National Championships.
In the Superboat Stock, CR RACING captured their first World Championship in tough battles each of the three races. CR RACING received an assist from ALLEN LAWN CARE & LANDSCAPING when they finished in second on Sunday. That put them on the podium in 3rd place for the week.
In the Superboat class, M-CON took 2nd place, and PERFORMANCE BOAT CENTER finished 3rd in the World Championships.
In their first season of offshore racing and first trip to the World Championships, the Lake’s 6th team, JACKHAMMER, failed to place in Superboat Stock class.
Up next is the Offshore Powerboat World Championships this weekend. We’ll broadcast that event live on KRMS.
