The Economic Development Advisory Committee recently held a meeting where they gathered new data on the Lake area thanks to the Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments. The purpose of the meeting was to gain input on the growth of businesses and job creation throughout the lake area. One of the groups attending the event was the Institute for Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship and member Brian Trapp says there is a lot to learn with the new study just released
The new study indicated that there was a steady line of job growth starting back in 2002 until last year showing business owners adding at least 2 to 99 new people each year and that sales was gaining traction. The goal now is to take these new ideas, connect with local entrepreneurs and help improve programs to encourage more entrepreneurship through new funding options and access to capital to forms businesses through local investors.
