Fire destroyed Whispering Oak Lodge at the Windermere Baptist Conference Center in Roach early Sunday morning. The 7,200-square-foot two-story building burned to the ground. Mid-County Fire Marshal Chris Bachman says the fire appears to have been started by mechanical failure in a clothes dryer.
