Calling it a matter of safety, the Bagnell Special Road District is putting a project on the fast track in Miller County. At issue is the low water bridge at the beginning of Catrock Road in the area known as Meads Flats. The work will involve closing access to Catrock, from Allen Road, while the road district replaces the bridge due to an undermining problem which…according to the road district…has compromised the safety of those who use the bridge on a daily basis. The work is scheduled to begin next Tuesday, the 21st, and will not necessarily help prevent the bridge from future flash flooding but will stabilize the culverts underneath. Total cost of replacing the low water bridge will run about 70-thousand dollars. The work is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of August.
