The Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance invites the public to a “Make Your Own Rain Barrel
Workshop” tonight. LOWA Executive Director Donna Swall explains:
Swall says rain barrels are an easy way to collect, store and dispense rainwater. By installing just a single
rain barrel under a downspout, you can start to capture enough runoff from your roof to help
keep plants around your house healthy all year long. Whether you purchase them or make your own, rain barrels are a low-cost and effective way to conserve water, save money … and help to stop storm water runoff into the Lake:
Everyone attending the rain barrel workshop will receive complete printed instructions on rain
barrel construction. The first 26 people to register will be able to take a completed rain barrel home, ready for installation.
LOWA’s rain barrel workshop takes place tonight, at 6:00, at the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District Station No. 1 on Highway 5-32.
