Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer is throwing his support behind a bill that would expedite the expansion of an oil pipeline from Alberta, Canada to the United States. The North American Made Energy Security, or NAMES Act, would force a final decision from the President on the Keystone XL pipeline. Executive Order 13337 says the President is considering a presidential permit for the pipleine but the application has been held up in the U.S. State Department for three years. The NAMES Act would force a decision on the Executive Order by November 1st of this year. The Keystone XL pipeline will bring 1.3 million barrels of oil per day into the country and it is estimated to create more than 100,000 jobs.
