Officials in the Camdenton R-3 School District and local authorities are breathing a sigh of relief today after an, apparent, gun scare was reported at the high school Monday afternoon. Superintendent Doctor Tim Hadfield says the district acted quickly with the report being checked out by assistant principal J.D. Hunter, school resource officers and the campus supervisor.
Camdenton Police Chief Laura Wright says the rumored scare was the result of information which appeared on social media over the weekend and, apparent, fall-out from a couple unrelated lunchroom incidents which happened last week. There was no weapon found on Monday or any reported continuation of those incidents.
