Voters in the Macks Creek school district will be asked to approve an increase in the operating levy when they vote in April, but it won’t raise the amount of taxes you pay. The ballot issue stipulates that the district will also reduce their debt service by an equal amount. The goal is to raise the tax levy to $3.43 to give the district access to more state funding.
Superintendent Dr. Josh Phillips says that would average $70,000 a year that the district can use for technology upgrades and more competitive staff salaries.
