A Camden County school is Autism Friendly. Staff at the Macks Creek R-V school district recently underwent training through the Stars for Autism program. High School Principal Brad Kolwyck says it’s an effort to be prepared for handling more students on the spectrum.
Kolwyck says the training helps the staff by teaching them how autistic students react to different stimuli, from lighting to sound and even the way conversations are phrased.
The training focused on sensory issues, disorders in communication, social interactions, and unusual behaviors.
