Macks Creek Voters to Decide City’s Future

The Camden County Clerk’s office has approved a petition to formally dissolve the city of Macks Creek and the issue will go before voters as a ballot initiative in August. Macks Creek resident Joe Crain led the petition drive to disincorporate:

Macks Creek Mayor Joel Stoner says he believes many citizens who signed the petition were misled, and he hopes to speak to them about what a “yes” vote would do to their city. Petitioner Joe Crain says the issue will appear on the August 7th primary ballot in Macks Creek:

A similar attempt to disincorporate failed seven years ago.
