Magruder Files to Expand Operations Beyond Scope of Special Use Permit in Lake Ozark

A quarrying company has sent letters to community members alerting them of plans to expand operations. Magruder has applied to the DNR to expand their current permit to allow them to work on 418 acres in Miller County. There may be a problem with that plan, though. Magruder says that includes the land that was recently rezoned in Lake Ozark, but City Administrator Dave Van Dee says a portion of the property they’re looking at was not included in the recent rezoning and is not included in the areas covered by the company’s special use permit. The information was included in Van Dee’s report to the Board of Aldermen, and could be discussed further when the board meets Tuesday night at 6pm.
