A Brumley faces new charges after being arrested while getting out of jail. Tanner Jeffrey Morris thought he was on his way home when he was released following a 24-hour hold at the Miller County Jail. During his one day behind bars, however, another warrant had been issued for his arrest on felony charges in Boone County. When he was informed of that, Morris took exception and told authorities he wasn’t going back to jail. Morris tried to run out of the lobby of the Sheriff’s office but was quickly caught, and a scuffle broke out with a deputy. Morris allegedly attempted to take the officer’s gun while they wrestled on the ground. Now he’s charged with fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest creating substantial risk of injury or death.
