A man who nearly drowned on the Lake over the 4th of July weekend is facing numerous charges and is banned from a local bar.

The Highway Patrol reports that 25-year-old Jason Federer of Chesterfield (St. Louis area) was banned from Shady Gators on Friday night, after restaurant officials deemed him “extremely drunk.”

He then “went for a swim” at the 7 ½ Mile Mark of the Main Channel, where he had some difficulty stay afloat.

Officers helped him out of the water but he resisted arrest and according to the report, he assaulted an officer.

He was taken to Lake Regional for treatment before being placed on a 24-hour hold at the Camden County Jail.
