The law enforcement community is mourning the death of a Maries County deputy sheriff on Law Enforcement Appreciate Day. Lt. Stewart Darrah passed away at his home Wednesday morning. Darrah had been with the Maries County Sheriff’s Office since 2009. He also spent time in the Gasconade County Sheriff’s office during his 20+ year career in law enforcement. In addition to his service in law enforcement, Darrah also served his community as an elected official, having recently served as the Mayor of Belle.
