A motion seeking a new trial following the capital murder conviction of Martin Priest was denied in Laclede County on Tuesday. After the motion was denied, Priest was then sentenced to life in prison. That sentence will run concurrently with a similar sentence he’s already serving in the State of Kansas. Priest was found guilty of the 1984 murder of Eldon teenager Tammy Rothganger. The case was heard in Laclede County on a change of venue.
