A workers’ comp provider is pledging to help fight childhood hunger by launching a matching-fund drive for donations to The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. Missouri Employers Mutual will match donations for the Buddy Pack Program up to $25,000 today through Saturday. The fund drive comes just in time for the start of a new school year. The Food Bank serves an estimated 7500 students in over 160 schools, including thirteen schools in Camden, Miller, and Morgan counties. The Buddy Pack program provides kid-friendly nutritious meals for students that qualify for free or reduced lunch. It costs $180 to provide a buddy pack for one child for the entire school year. Donations can be made online at www.sharefoodbringhope.org and can be earmarked for the county you want your money to go to.
