Things are going well for the Camden County Sheriff’s department. Last week the Sheriff’s office completed a much needed renovation which hasn’t been done since the office opened in the 1990’s. According to Camden County Sheriff Dwight Franklin, some of the prisoners did the repairs and upgrades
Franklin says this was a necessity because the walls were stained with yellow smoke from the former days of smoking being allowed in the building and there was rolls of duct tape holding things together which has now all been repaired.
Franklin also says that earlier in the year they were worried about losing an officer due to budget cuts but after a grant was approved, an opportunity opened up to add to the roster rather than take from it
The new person is under the training right now and will be ready to start working soon.
Also some sighs of relief made as Triple Homicide convict Dennis McCabe was transferred out of the county jail. Franklin says now he’s with the city of Fulton
