After a discussion Tuesday with Ameren Missouri, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill is ready to fight the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on changes to the Shoreline Management Plan. The senator says that she is on it.
Changes made to regulations by FERC make about 4,000 structures including homes, decks and gazebos inside the boundary line subject to removal. McCaskill says the federal bureaucrats are out of hand.
McCaskill says FERC will be her focus but there is a question about who to blame.
Ameren is waiting for a re-hearing with FERC to determine if Ameren’s plan to grandfather sturctures and move parts of the boundary will be accepted.
