Area fire departments are issuing reminders for residents to call the burn notice line before burning outside. Mid-County Fire Protection District responded to two natural cover fires over the weekend and they say this time of year, those types of fires start picking up. Before burning anything outside, you need to call 573-346-3262 to find out whether it’s a burn day. Right now, Mid-County says they’re not allowing any burning due to dry conditions and a lack of rain. Burn days are determined by the current and forecasted wind and humidity, along with drought and rainfall conditions.
