MDC Officials Remind Residents Not To Blow Leaves Into The Lake

As fall starts to wind down across the Ozarks, officials with the Missouri Department of Conservation want to remind residents that dumping leaves into the Lake is not allowed.

Speaking with our news partner KY 3 TV, MDC’s Francis Skalicky says it’s best if you compost them instead, or take them to a place that composts them for you.

He says you can also burn them, so long as your county’s ordinances allow for it and it’s safe to burn.

While residents likely won’t be fined for dumping leaves into the lake, a commercial landscaping company can.
