The Village of Sunrise Beach is celebrating after the Department of Natural Resources not only approved their requests for a Grant and a Loan, but increased the Grant amount for the water project. MDNR’s revolving fund Grant was increased from $564,479 to $920,697. The Grant is 75% of the project cost and the 25%, that totals $230,175, will be funded by the Loan. The DNR split the project into two phases because a few sections of the project were not within the city limits. Now that the deal has been completed, the city can go ahead with the annexation of the Castle Gardens and Lucky Strike subdivisions.
