The Highway Patrol says seven people died in traffic crashes during the Memorial Day holiday. That number includes 59-year old Maria Stone of Lebanon who was killed in a crash on Saturday. Between 6pm Friday and 11:59 Monday night, the patrol investigated 298 accidents with 106 injuries. Last year on Memorial Day weekend there were 16 people killed in traffic accidents. Troop F, which includes the lake area, reported 30 crashes with no fatalities, six injuries, and 13 DWI arrests. 95 people were cited for DWI statewide.
On the water, there were six boat accidents across the state. Seven of the nine BWI citations were issued by Troop F.
