Wide-spread speculation into the cause of the Branson tragedy in which 17 people died when the Duck tourist boat they were in sank in Table Rock Lake continues to focus on sudden severe weather. Adding to the notion that contradicts reports of sudden severe weather being a factor include statements made by the owner of the company operating the Ducks who told other media outlets that the “severe weather came from out no nowhere but, also, that the boats should not have been out on the water.” One survivor says the passengers were told that a storm was brewing so they would begin with the water portion of the tour. Five children including a teenager, ages 1-2-7-9-15, were among the dead with nine of the victims all in one family from Indiana.
