No rest for the weary following a very busy weekend as firefighters from the Mid County District battle two residential structure fires at the same time Monday afternoon. Chief Scott Frandsen says the first call was to a house on Twin Rivers Road after an electric wire was found on the ground arcing resulting in a corner of the house catching on fire. Neighbors were able to control the fire until Mid-County arrived…damage was minor and contained to the exterior. While at that scene, a second house fire was reported on Piney Point Drive in the Roach area. This time, however, when firefighters got to the scene the house was fully involved with two others in danger. The blaze was brought under control in about thirty minutes while the other two houses suffered minor exterior damage…the cause of that fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported as a result of either fire.
