The Mid-County Fire Protection District averaged five calls a day last month. According to statistics released by Chief Scott Frandsen, the district responded to 152 calls in September. As usual, most of those were medical emergencies, which totaled 91 runs. There were five structure fires, four brush fires, and four trash fires during the month. So far this year, the district has responded to 1596 calls. That’s up by 16 over their total at this same time last year.
