More money is coming to the lake area to improve communications capabilities for first-responders. The Mid-County Fire District has received $275,000 in grants for new radios.
Chief Scott Frandsen says the money allows them to replace obsolete equipment that could no longer be serviced. They’re joining the Moswin network along with Osage Beach and Lake Ozark to improve interagency communications.
The Mid-County District has to provide a 10% match for the grant, which amounts to about the cost of two radios.
