The Mid County Fire Protection District is expanding. The district’s board of directors has approved buying a 4.8 acre set of land located on Pier 31 Road to be the seventh fire station. The total cost to buy the land was around $51,000 but no new station will be built until funds are available. Fire Chief Scott Frandsen with the District says they were able to purchase the land because they had refinanced a bond two years ago. This station will be serving residents living in Camelot, Cross Creek, Pier 31, Bear Paw and Niangua Bend areas. Mid county also has a station in Camdenton, Greenview, Roach, Decaturville and Montreal.
