Mid-County firefighters battled back-to-back blazes that they say were NOT an accident. Crews were called out to a natural cover fire just after 7:30 Thursday night. It was on Cross Creek Drive behind the Camdenton Wal-Mart. With high winds and dry conditions, the fire spread quickly through the pine trees. About three hours later, they were called to the same area for another fire. Chief Scott Frandsen says there’s no doubt that the fires were intentionally set.
Both fires are under investigation. Anyone with information should contact Fire Marshal Lianne Johnson at 346-2049.
