The following is a press release issued by the Mid County Fire District about an explosion and fire they responded to Friday afternoon:
On 3/3/17 at 2:26pm the Mid County Fire District was dispatched to a reported lawn mower explosion and grass fire. First arriving unit found that the fire had spread to a detached 2 car garage and the garage was well involved. The alarm was upgraded and additional units were dispatched. The garage was full of furniture and thousands of rounds of ammunition. The cause of the fire was due to the original explosion of the lawn mower. The garage and contents were a total loss, but a nearby house and a second garage within 3 feet of the fire garage were undamaged. Mid County responded with an Engine, 4 tankers and 2 brush trucks. Osage Beach Fire District responded to Mid County Station 1 for coverage. There were no injuries. All units cleared the scene at 4:45pm
