If you haven’t had your dock checked for safety this year, this may be just the reminder you need. The Mid-County Fire Protection District responded to a call Monday afternoon about possible electricity in the water. The Fire Prevention Division responded to a dock location on Stonebraker Drive and determined that there was, in fact, electric in the water. Laclede Electric also responded and was able to disconnect the power until the problem can be corrected. There are several agencies you can call to have your dock’s electricity inspected for safety. If you aren’t sure where to start, contact your local fire protection district.
