Tuesday was a busy day for the Mid-County Fire Protection District. Their first fire call was around 1:30 that morning for a mobile home on White Lane, just off of Sweat Road outside of Montreal. Fire Chief Scott Frandsen says the home was fully engulfed and the roof had already collapsed when they arrived on scene. No one was home at the time, so there were no injuries reported. The second fire occurred on Kings Point, just off 565. The owner’s of that home were a lot luckier.
Chief Frandsen said the majority of the fire was extinguished by the homeowner before they arrived.
