Just about half way through the summer and the Lake of the Ozarks has been a busy place, as have other waterways across the state.
That’s Captain Matt Walz with the Missouri water patrol. So far this summer there has been three drownings and two near drowning. Walz adds that there have been 28 accidents with 55 injuries and another 23 non-injury accidents. Ameren-Missouri’s Jeff Green, with the Shoreline office, says wearing life jackets should be a top priority for anyone hitting the water
It was relatively quiet on the water and the roads in the lake area this past weekend. The Highway Patrol reports just a handful of incidents, including four arrests for DWI and two for BWI. There was one minor accident on the lake when an 18-year old backed into a docked boat while attempting to get into a shared slip.
