Stopping short of calling it an accident waiting to happen, the Miller County Commission takes the next step toward making a roadway safer for motorists in the St. Elizabeth area. The commission, today (Wednesday), conducted a pre-bid meeting for the Hoecker Road project which has been an issue since being heavily damaged in May of 2013.
Second District Commissioner Brian Duncan also says previous repairs of the roadway have given away, again, to weather drawing the interest of FEMA and the Corps of Engineers. A design for the $160-thousand worth of work has been approved. The project is now open to bids and the Miller County Commission will consider any bids received during a meeting scheduled October 12th.
