The first in a series of public hearings considering a proposed transportation tax in Miller County is on the calendar tonight. The county, according to First District Commissioner Darrell Bunch, is trying to get a one-half cent tax passed on the April ballot.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds, if the tax passes, would be earmarked for those Miller County cities included in the 2016 cart formula. Tonight’s public hearing begins at 6:30 in the Eldon Community Center building. There will also be public hearings on the 27th at the FEMA building in Iberia and on the 28th at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark. They both begin at 6-pm.
