Those who are going to owe personal property and real estate taxes at the end of the year in Miller County will have a few extra days to pay. The county is being forced to extend the deadline, according to Collector Bill Harvey, due to the software company out of Springfield having a key person in the process of preparing the bills unexpectedly retire.
Local school districts will be affected the most having to wait longer for their tax collections. Harvey says the county should be receiving about $20-million in tax monies paid in, about the same as last year. The new deadline to pay in Miller County, and be considered on time, is January 6th.
