The Miller County Sheriff’s Department is being pro-active when it comes to trying to reduce crime. The department is in the process of implementing a county-wide neighborhood watch program. Sheriff Louie Gregoire says the program will teach those participating about skills of observation and what to look for.
The county-wide program is being overseen by the sheriff’s department and the prosecuting attorney’s office with the first in a series of crime watch meetings to take place this week in Iberia. The organizational meeting is set to begin at 5-pm Thursday at the First Assembly of God Church.
