It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for some underprivileged kids in Miller County.

That’s because this weekend marks the annual “shop with a cop” event for the sheriff’s department which says participating in the program is a nice change of pace…

“It’s kinda nice to be able to get away from the normal grind, and go out with the kids and enjoy it and have a good time. Cuz, we do enjoy it…we take them out, we have fun shopping and we all get pizza” says Sheriff Louie Gregoire.

He tells KRMS News that most of the fundraising for the program was raised by deputies and other department personnel paying out of their own pockets not to have to shave as part of “No Shave November.”

The deputies will be hitting up Target today to do some shopping with the kids.
