The people have spoken in Miller County and Louie Gregoire will be the new sheriff after pulling out a primary win over his competition. Gregoire collected 1,872 votes compared to 1,636 for Dave Stark, 1,315 for Joseph Woods, 321 for Anthony Williams, and 194 for Evan Meyer. Other contested local races solely in Miller County saw incumbent Darrell Bunch top the field for the District-1 commission spot collecting 693 votes compared to 580 for Eldon Police Chief Rodney Fair, 547 for Daniel Berendzen, and 504 for Ronnie Vernon. The County Commission District-2 seat will belong to Travis Lawson who collected 821 votes, about 8-percent better than Robert Jones and Brian Duncan who collected 595 and 590 votes respectively. Randy Lutrell collected 481 votes, 156 for Randy Russell and 155 for Steve Eidson. Timothy Bradley won the race for Miller County Coroner beating Kelly Sedgwick 2,543-2,021 and will be unopposed in November and Theresa Lupardus will be unopposed in November for the Public Administrator position after beating Samantha Crane 2,940-1,933.
