A Lake Area Representative’s bill that focuses on abortions in the state continues to make its way through the House. Representative Rocky Miller has filed the bill on numerous occasions, calling it his “white whale”. The bill would require both parents of a minor obtaining an abortion to be notified of the decision instead of the current law stating only one parent needs to be notified. The bill does, however, have a stipulation that states that under certain circumstances, such as a parent who has had their parental rights revoked by the court, only one parent needs to be notified. The bill was voted Do Pass by committee yesterday and has now been referred to another committee for Legislative Oversight.
