A 22-year-old from Eldon accused of spitting on deputies and jail staff in Miller County will, apparently, only be charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest. That’s according to courthouse records which show that a summons was issued last week for David Stanley, Junior, in connection to the sequence of events back in mid-July. The probable cause statement indicates that deputies were dispatched to a location on VFW Road after receiving a report that Stanley was threatening another resident. Upon arrival, it’s alleged that Stanley then became aggressive with the deputy and, after being put into handcuffs, threatened to beat up the deputy and take sexual liberties with his daughter. The aggressive behavior continued with Stanley, reportedly, trying to bite a deputy while being put into the patrol car and continuing to spit on the deputy and jail staff. Stanley is scheduled to appear in associate circuit court in mid-October.
