Missouri’s attorney General is getting involved in a case of a St. Louis couple who’s being charged for unlawful use of a weapon, after displaying guns while fighting off protestors during a racial injustice protest outside their home.
Speaking to FOX NEWS, AG Eric Schmidt says the McCloskey’s were protecting their home, which is on a private street, and that the entire prosecution is political.
Several Republican leaders have condemned the investigation and charges submitted by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardener.
They include President Donald Trump, Governor Mike Parson and Senator Josh Hawley.
Parson said on Friday that if they were charged and convicted, he would issue a Pardon.
