There are some changes coming regarding when executions take place in the state of Missouri. For decades, executions have been scheduled to start at 12:01 am on Wednesdays. However, beginning in March that will change. The Missouri Supreme court set a March 17th execution date for Cecil Clayton who was convicted of killing a southwest Missouri deputy in 1996. The execution is scheduled for a Tuesday and will start at 6pm. A spokesman for the department of corrections says the change provides a time more practical for witnesses and for courts reviewing the case.
