The Missouri Department of Agriculture says tests on three horses show they do not have the potentially fatal virus known as Equine Herpes Virus-1. The horses were reportedly exposed to the virus during a show in Utah. The owners quarantined them and placed them under veterinary care, in Boone County. Since then, they’ve been tested twice and shown no signs of the disease, so they’ve been released from quarantine. Elsewhere, 17 horses in at least nine states and Canada have contracted EHV-1, and three have died.
