A $1.2 Billion dollar coronavirus aid package is heading to Governor Mike Parson’s desk for approval.
Missouri Lawmakers passed the bill 23 to 1 on Wednesday, without making a vote on Parson’s proposal to prevent lawsuits against health care workers and businesses due to the pandemic.
Nearly $752 million is being set aside for general coronavirus relief that must be spent by the end of the year.
Officials say $135 million will go towards testing and data collection, while around $97 million will go towards child support.
Lawmakers aren’t abandoning the lawsuit proposal altogether, as several lawmakers have filed for additional discussions on the matter during January’s legislative session.
