Missouri has been recognized for efforts to incorporate apprenticeships into workforce training. At the Apprenticeship Missouri Summit held this week in Columbia, it was announced that the state has reached a milestone of 10,000 new registered apprenticeships for fiscal year 2019. That’s second in the country according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The state also ranks second for the number of completed apprenticeships with 3,614. Governor Mike Parson says the programs will play a critical role in developing a trained workforce. The state currently has over 15,000 active apprentices in 472 programs through more than 3600 employers.
