Missouri Senate Bill 49 Could Affect Your Rights As A Dock Owner

A bill moving through the Missouri Senate could have a major impact on your dock at Lake of the Ozarks.

According to the Bagnell Dam Association of Realtors, if Senate Bill 49 does not pass this Tuesday, it could give rights to anyone to simply “pitch a tent” on your dock and live there.

In a letter to Realtors, the association indicates that since Boat Docks are on Ameren’s Lake, rather than a Federal controlled waterway, a person could simply stroll up to a dock and live on it, whether the homeowner likes it or not.
