Missouri Senator Rick Brattin is trying to pass a bill that would allow for the use of deadly force against protestors on private property.
According to a report, the bill was debated by a state Senate committee on Monday, and it would give immunity to people who “run over” protestors that are blocking traffic on a roadway.
It also makes those demonstrations that block traffic a felony crime.
Supporters of the bill say it is extremely dangerous to allow the blocking of traffic, especially when first responders need to get through for an emergency.
Those who oppose the bill says it could encourage a vigilantly mindset in the people who break the law.
